Meet Your Teacher

I teach Grade 8 American History and love the opportunity to foster student civic engagement.  From sponsoring federal legislation with Senator John E. Sununu to witnessing the historic nomination of President Obama, Hampstead students are provided with the opportunity to engage in meaningful learning in their social studies classes.
Teaching is my third career, with a Masters Degree in curriculum and instruction, I previously worked in finance and as a paralegal in big New York City and Boston firms.  I have been at Hampstead Middle School now for nearly twenty years and love every day.  The students are my sunshine and are truly inspirational.  During my HMS teaching tenure, I have been honored with NH VFW Teacher of the Year, NH Semi-finalist Teacher of the Year, and NHAMLE Award.  I have given workshops and seminars related to civic engagement across New England, including presentations at NH BEST SCHOOLS and New England League of Middle Schools.
The greatest reward of teaching is student achievement from daily" I get this" moments to student accomplishments in speaking and writing contests, students are learning to be responsible citizens of our town, state, country, nation, and world.  Each day I am eager to continue this important work!
